Diploma Supplement

What is the Diploma Supplement?

The Diploma Supplement is an annex to your diploma that provides detailed information about the subjects you’ve studied, languages taught, credits earned, acquired skills, academic results, and your professional qualifications.

The University of Cadiz issues the Diploma Supplement both in Spanish and English.

If you have finished your “Graduado” degree and you apply for youf Diploma Supplement for first time, it will be issued free of charge.

The Diploma Supplement is part of the Europass framework transparency tools.

The Diploma Supplement serves as a valuable tool to facilitate the recognition of academic qualifications. It helps graduates ensure that their degrees are acknowledged by higher education institutions, public authorities, and employers both within their home country and internationally. However, it is important to note that the Diploma Supplement is not equivalent to a Curriculum Vitae and does not replace the original qualification.

The Diploma Supplement contains eight sections providing information regarding:

  • the holder of the qualification
  • the qualification type and its originating institution
  • the qualification level
  • the content of the course and results gained
  • function of the qualification
  • certification of the supplement
  • details of the national higher education system concerned (provided by the National Academic Recognition Information Centres (NARICs))
  • other relevant details
